Regression

I sit here with a lot of emotions, mainly disappointed, disappointed of the current events that continue to transpire. I'm hurt, because there were strong leaders before I was born, such as Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman, Thurgood Marshall, and MORE that stood up, fought, and sacrificed so us black people could have the same rights as anyone living in this country, and have the same opportunities to live our lives freely and safe. These leaders showed love, compassion, and a selfless heart as they fought for us to have equal rights, and freedom to live our lives. I'm disappointed because these leaders did so many great things and we are still seeing REGRESSION.
When I read and study how we have been treated before I was born, when I see pictures from the 1800s-present and even videos, I ask myself, what has really changed in regards to how we are treated as individuals? I see a lot of ignorant rhetoric on social media, on the news; I see a lot of hate and pain, I see a lot of uneducated, and uniformed individuals opening their mouthes and writing their thoughts on irrelevant stuff; that really disappoints me. I wonder to myself, wow these individuals really do not have empathy, and what is the reason for this hatred?
I have experienced on a multitude of levels RACISM. I have been profiled, harassed to the fullest, and even more!! I'm grateful for the individuals before me, they went through worse, they fought for us to have a better life in "2020." The crazy thing is I haven't taking my experiences out on anyone in a negative way, because I just want PROGRESSION.
The same PROPAGANDA and NARRATIVES continue to happen around the same time every year.
WHY IS THAT???
As a black man, i can surely tell you black people are not animals, we are strong, devoted, loving and caring individuals that deserve to be treated like humans. We are not oblivious to what is going on; we are well aware and beyond 'woke', more than you could imagine. We will continue to come together, we will continue to use our platforms to spark more brains to come up with solutions. We will continue to come up with our own solutions as there are many strong individuals in our communities that continue to do these things.
We have asked for help and solutions for a long time now, we have showed through movies/tv shows how we continually get treated, we have expressed our hurt through songs, and letters; we have asked for EMPATHY for FAR TOO LONG!!
Are there solutions to us being killed because of the color of our skin?
Although I see REGRESSION, we will continue to fight for PROGRESSION, we will not rest until WE SEE PROGRESSION.
